I am Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the Trudeau Center for Peace and Conflict Studies, Munk School of Global Affairs, at the University of Toronto. I also am a regular guest blogger at the Duck of Minerva. I was born and raised in Southern California. I completed my undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and then moved to the University of California, San Diego to pursue an MA and PhD in Political Science.
My research lies at the crossroads of International Relations and Comparative Politics. Broadly, I am interested in the politics of organization, why human beings choose to act collectively, their choices to go about doing it, and the effects of those choices.
Main research interests:
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
International norms and law
